23 Years in Business

I realized from Facebook that today is our 23rd anniversary in Business. It is amazing to me that we have been in business all these years. In  some respects I am not too surprised. When we started the business I knew we would never work for any one else again. But the time has gone by so quickly. We are working on our second set of kids (we have two grown boys), and our third Cleaning Van.

In 1970 when I got out of the army I started cleaning carpets with a friend. He worked for one of those coupon type companies. He had protable cleaining equipment in the back of his car. He made 20% of the sale and I made 10%. My job was cleaning the carpets and Clydes job was upselling (that is trying to get the customer to spend more money). I was no good at upselling. I did not like it then and I do not like it now. Well any way, we did not last long at that job. Like most other people that clean carpets that way, it was  no way to make a decent living.
